ACQUIZHEN

We aim to use not only the purest ingredients but also the simplest and most effective extraction techniques to put active ingredients in our skincare range. Some ingredients used in ACQUIZHEN products are harvested from the wild. To meet our certification standards the harvesting of these products must be sustainable. We also aim to use ingredients which provide a fair wage to people at the plants source as well as maintaining the natural resources that they rely on.

Consuming and using products which are produced organically and harvested from the wild sustainably is in brief, a way of maintaining a standard of lifestyle with due regard for all people’sdependence on the environment around them and for the earth itself.

Growing crops organically is a form of agriculture which has less negative impact on the environment as less chemicals are released into the soil, water and air in the form of pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and fertilisers. While these chemicals promote the growth of the desired crop their impact on wildlife and people in the area can be very negative. People living near crop fields, as wells as those working on them, can be exposed to harmful levels of the chemicals that are applied to crops. Fertilisers cause an excess of nitrogen to be released into the water system which can cause great harm to the aquatic environment. It is also bad for people living downstream whose water is polluted. Pesticides may kill their intended victims but they also harm many animals throughout the food web. While smaller animals may ingest toxins and survive larger predators towards the top of the food chain accumulate a higher dose as they consume more and are often the first animals to disappear.

Organic farming methods.

Organic farming is less harmful to people working on and living near the farms, as well being less harmful to the local environment and environments linked through features such as water supply. Production of pesticides, fertilisers etc uses a large amount of fossil fuel not just to provide the energy needed in the process but also as a component of the products themselves. We are all increasingly trying to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and organic agriculture fits into this. A person who does not want traces of chemicals used in cultivation to affect food that they consume both in content of the end product and environmental impact would also wish to use organic skin care. Effective skincare is designed to penetrate the skin to nourish and treat all layers. Organically produced products maintain the purity of ingredients sourced from nature.
